Why Are Coronavirus Cases Among Adults Bad News?

Based on a recent study, people with an age range of 20-40 years have a big role in the spread of the Covid-19 virus. This is supported by a study conducted by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, which found that young adults transmit the virus 2.78 times more than older people. While people are elderly, they are more susceptible to the virus but they are less likely to pass it on to other people.

The high rate of spread by adults is because they are often not aware that they have been infected, especially with jobs that require meeting many people or visiting crowded places. In addition, the tug-of-war of government policies that sometimes tighten health protocol rules and then relax them again, makes today’s adults more and more ignorant.

This neglectful attitude is actually dangerous for the elderly who are more vulnerable when infected. This is because even though these elderly people have stayed at home, the potential for transmission of coronavirus from among adults is still very likely to occur.

Although adults are statistically less likely to die from Covid-19, they are still not immune from the Covid-19 virus. In fact, many people in their 20s have had long-term health problems since becoming infected with the disease.

The researchers concluded that extra precautions are needed among adults. It is not known when this pandemic will end, it is fitting for us to remain vigilant and always follow health protocols properly. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, wear a mask properly in public places and if possible stay at home so that the chain of transmission of this disease can be broken.
